Designed for freeride tourers in search of mountain adventures, the Atomic Backland 102 lets you explore, climb, and descend with complete confidence. Featuring the same construction as the wider Backland 109, this touring ski is equipped with the FreeTour profile, making it highly powerful on the descent. An Ultra Light Woodcore made from poplar and caruba provides the ideal balance between low weight and optimal performance, while the lightweight, three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for better float in deep snow. The Powder Rocker features a pronounced tip and tail, with camber underfoot for effortless, playful maneuverability in both powder and tracked-out or crusty snow.
A reinterpretation of the original Backland construction, this ski is built with more low-carbon raw materials, more wood, and less fiberglass, metal, and resin, reducing CO2 equivalent emissions by 26% compared to the 2022 Backland 100. Developed in collaboration with Austrian backcountry legend Matthias Haunholder, the Backland 102 offers sensational downhill performance and great efficiency on the climb.
